MINISTRY OF LABOUR, SKILLS AND INNOVATION HOLDS VALIDATION MEETING ON EMPLOYMENT AND LABOUR RELATIONS ACTS

The Ministry of Labour, Skills and Innovation has today commenced a two-day validation meeting for the Employment Act and the Labour Relations Act, both of which are currently under review. 

The meeting is being held at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC).

The review process aims to identify and address gaps within the two pieces of legislation to ensure they remain responsive to Malawi’s evolving labour market and effectively promote fair labour practices.

Participants at the validation meeting include representatives from the Malawi Congress of Trade Unions (MCTU), the Employers Consultative Association of Malawi (ECAM), the Industrial Relations Court, and other key stakeholders.

The process is being supported by the European Union (EU) through the Zantchito Skills for Jobs Program.
